Bootleg Posse Sticker Pack Mockup (not final design)
In 1989, Shepard Fairey (OBEY Giant) created the original Andre the Giant has a Posse sticker referencing Hip-Hop culture and as an inside joke among the skateboarding/punk rock community. Almost immediately, people began parodying or bootlegging the design and still do, demonstrating that the sticker continues to resonate throughout the underground and even popular culture. Now, more than 30 years later, the Bootleg Posse is still going strong. PEEL Magazine and Discordia Merchandising have joined together to create the Bootleg Posse Project to honor the OG Posse sticker design, inviting any and all artists to contribute their own design(s) to the project. It's very easy to participate in this project. Simply click DOWNLOADS above for templates to help you create your design(s). The fine print: Designs must be emailed to peelmagazine@gmail.com in order to be considered for inclusion in the Bootleg Posse sticker packs. PEEL and Discordia Merchandising will cover the costs of sticker printing, pack production, and any other costs related to creating and selling the sticker packs. Submitting your design(s) grants PEEL the right to print and sell your submitted design(s) in the sticker packs, and the original artist will retain the copyright to the design(s). This project is NOT an official OBEY Giant project, however, Shepard Fairey has given his permission for the project. Artists whose design(s) are selected to be included in the packs will receive a free Bootleg Posse sticker pack.
